Understanding plans and billing
SyncTec bills source stores and destination stores differently. This guide lays out both in plain numbers, explains trials and free options, and helps you pick the right one.
Billing in SyncTec is refreshingly simple once you know that source stores and destination stores are charged in two different ways. You will find everything on the Plan page (the Plan link in the sidebar, titled Plan and Billing). The plans and prices shown there are always the current source of truth; the numbers below are a guide.
Destination stores: pay by how many products you sell
Destination stores choose a monthly plan based on the number of products you actively sync. Every plan includes real-time inventory syncing; higher plans raise your product limit and add features. Typical plans:
- Free — $0 per month, up to 25 products
- Starter — $19 per month, up to 100 products
- Traction — $29 per month, up to 500 products, adds Sync Lock and Order Push
- Growth — $39 per month, up to 1,000 products, adds priority chat support
- Pro — $69 per month, up to 3,000 products
- Business — $99 per month, up to 5,000 products
- Enterprise — $129 per month, unlimited products
The plan page lists exactly what is included, using labels like Product sync, Inventory sync, Multi-location sync, Collection sync, Real-time updates, Email support, Sync lock, Order push, and priority support. Sync Lock and Order Push unlock on Traction and above.
Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial (cancel anytime before it ends and you will not be charged). Free plans are free forever. Your plan is tied to your store, not the team, so if you leave one team and join another, your plan stays with the store and you are not charged again.
To change plans, use Upgrade Plan, Downgrade Plan, or Cancel to Free on the Plan page. Upgrades and paid changes send you to Shopify to confirm the charge; cancelling moves you to the Free plan immediately. If you downgrade, SyncTec will not remove products you already synced; it just stops you syncing new ones beyond the new limit, so you can Un-Sync some to get back under the cap.
Source stores: pay by how many orders you receive
Source stores are not charged per product. You are charged based on how many orders are pushed to you each month. The app calls these performance-based tiers, and it starts free every month:
- Free — 0 to 10 synced orders per month: $0
- Starter — 11 to 100 synced orders per month: $19
- Pro — 101 to 1,000 synced orders per month: $49
- Enterprise — 1,001 or more synced orders per month: $99, which is the monthly maximum
A synced order is any purchase in a destination store that includes at least one item synced from your catalog. Your tier is adjusted automatically each month to the most cost-effective level based on your actual usage, and you stay free for the month if you have under 11 synced orders.
One thing that surprises new source stores: during setup Shopify asks you to pre-authorise the top $99 tier. This is a Shopify requirement to complete installation. You will only ever be billed for what you actually use, not the pre-authorised amount. Source plans include unlimited store connections, unlimited Location Groups, unlimited synced products, and unlimited Sync Locks.
Free forever and development stores
- Some partner stores are set up as lifetime free and bypass limits and charges entirely
- Shopify development stores are never charged real money; they are placed in test mode automatically
