Reseller quickstart: join a source store and go live

You want to sell someone else's products without holding stock. This guide walks a destination store from install to live: join a source store with a Team ID, get approved, choose a plan, and sync your first products.

This guide is for the destination store, a store that wants to sell a source store's products without buying or storing inventory. By the end, you will be connected and ready to sync products.

Before you start

You will need:

  • Your own Shopify store
  • The Team ID from your source store (it looks like SP-TEAM-XXXXXX). If you do not have one, ask them for it.

Step 1: Install SyncTec and open onboarding

Install SyncTec from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions. You will land on the onboarding wizard; on the Welcome screen click Get Started.

Step 2: Choose Join Existing Team

On the screen titled How would you like to start?, pick Join Existing Team, then click Continue. This makes your store a destination store.

Step 3: Enter the Team ID and request to join

On the Join a team screen, type the Team ID your source store gave you (format SP-TEAM-XXXXXX) and click Request to Join.

What happens now: your request goes to the source store for approval. You will see a Waiting for team to accept screen with a Pending approval note. You can cancel with Cancel Request if needed. Once they approve, the screen changes to You're in! and you click Continue.

Step 4: Choose your plan

Next you choose a plan on the Select Your Plan screen, based on how many products you want to sync. There is a Free plan to start (up to 25 products), and paid plans raise the limit and add features like Sync Lock and Order Push. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. Pick a plan and click Complete Setup. See Understanding plans and billing for details.

Step 5: Make sure you are in a Location Group

So that stock lands in the right place, your store must be added to a Location Group with your source store, which maps your fulfillment location to theirs. The source store sets this up and adds you. If you try to sync a product and are told a Location Group is required, that is why. See Location Groups explained.

Step 6: Sync your first products

Now the fun part. Open the Products page to browse your source store's catalog, find the items you want to sell, and click Sync. SyncTec creates those products in your Shopify store, with images, variants, and descriptions, prices converted to your currency if needed, and stock mirrored from the source store.

The full details, including bulk syncing, currency, limits, and removing products, are in Syncing products.

You are live

That is it. You now have real products in your store that stay in sync with your source store. When a customer buys from you and Order Push is on, the order is sent to your source store to ship, and you receive the tracking details back on your order. Read How orders work so you know exactly what to expect.
